MEDIA AND INFORMATION LANGUAGES
DAY 10 || 12/12/2017
This day, we discussed about language and its different effects or implications to people. We were given some questions by our teacher Mr. Opiana with regards to the knowledge that we have about language. Here are some of the questions and my answer.
We were tasked to interpret the quotation. "Language is a source of misunderstanding"
MY INTERPRETATION: There are various languages in the world and there are also a lot of ways to use different languages thus creating an ironic effect since language is for communication but it also causes miscommunication due to different language barriers and different interpretations of a message.
Does the user's/ audience's own background or experience affect the interpretation of messages?
ANSWER: Yes, the different experiences and background of people can influence the way on how they interpret certain messages. This is because these backgrounds and experiences ca change their perspective or how they look on things as well as their beliefs. These changes can cause language barriers especially if the experiences and background of two persons does not align or agree with each other.
Is it possible that a different individual derives a different message/ meaning from the messages?
ANSWER: Yes, this is possible because not all individuals thinks the same way. Also, the various experiences, knowledge and background that a person have as well as his disabilities could influence the way on how they interpret messages.

QUESTIONS:
If you will be a reporter, are
you going to use the conventional way of how the each media will broadcast the
given scenario?
No, I
will use a different kind of approach or method such as a hybrid one. This is
essential so that the pieces of information will be delivered in a precise way
and it will also help to garner the interest of the viewers involved.
What will you do to not make your
report boring? Elaborate your answer.
To make
my report interesting I will certainly add a taste of creativity onto it. I
will do my best to get the viewers’ attention as I report by providing them
with precise information and catchy statements. I will also practice caution as
I state my opinion about a certain report that I am making so that I can be a
role model to them as they state their own opinions with care and caution as
well.
Would you exaggerate some
elements in your report to make it interesting? Why?
I would
never exaggerate the elements of my report just to make it interesting because
it is just like being a bias and being a liar not only to yourself but also to
other people, especially the viewers. Yes, I need to be creative to be able to
get the attention and interest of viewers however, it should not go beyond the
extent that the information is already exaggerated thus making the information
false and making it very ironic because as a reporter truth is the one that should
always prevail.
