Another day for another blog! All of us in this world does not always stay the same because life goes on and time passes by and that's why we all evolve including the media around us. It has long started as only cave paintings to printing press to telegraphs, telephones , radio, televisions and to advanced computers and a lot of media providers. We can really see how media has truly evolved from little to a massive one just like a pokemon!

Here is a video on how media have massively evolved:

While here is the summary of the ways on how people communicate, store and broadcast information since the Pre-Industrial Age up to the Information Age:

Acta Diurna, papyrus, printing press in wooden blocks are only some of the materials they have used to relay information to the public through what we called as mass communication.

High tech computers are now used to store a lot of information and data globally.
Publications in paper, or even in the internet are already used. High tech televisions, and other internet websites are being used to broadcast information not only to a specific country but across the globe.

ROLE OF MEDIA IN A DEMOCRATIC SOCIETY

In the continuous evolution of media, its roles and functions in a democratic society just like the Philippines have increased. Most of its functions are making individuals aware of the different social, economical, environmental and political issues that has been happening, providing information in a very fast and efficient way and it reveals the truths and realities of the society. It is the main backbone of a democratic society.

HOW MEDIA AFFECTED ME?

Media has really been an essential part of my life. It has affected me personally, academically, and socially. I can say that media made me a better person and aware of my surroundings. It has been a beneficial factor in my life through the years. However, I continue to use it i moderation and certain control so that it won't be harmful to me and my future.

"Social media is the ultimate equalizer. It gives a voice and a platform to anyone willing to engage."
